Although this will be Samantha Albert’s last Olympic Games, she made sure to leave a Jamaican impression at the highest level of the sport.  Albert, the 41-year-old, now 2-time Olympian, placed 51stin the individual eventing competition in 11:27.57, for a commendable 54.00 penalty points after an unfortunate mishap which saw her horse, Carraig Dubh, losing its shoe.

Albert, who is Jamaica’s first Olympic Equestrian, was not able to achieve the near perfect show-jumping scores needed to advance after her horse’s injury, and settled with a 21-penalty-pointperformance.  Albert has spent the remaining days of the games giving her full support to her fellow Olympic teammates, most recently watching the athletics competition.
