Christopher Columbus, from as early as 1494, declared it the fairest land eyes ever beheld.  For centuries this isle has been an irresistible magnet for adventurers and artists, writers and musicians, moguls and movie stars.  Today, as a result of the athletic prowess of her sons and daughters, Jamaica is renowned globally as the sprint capital.  As the eyes of the world focused on the summer games in London, Jamaica again shun in all her glory.

Known as the land of wood and water, Jamaica is the home of reggae, rum, natural beauty and some of the best golf in the Caribbean.  She also offers more attractions than any other Caribbean island.  This year marks a significant milestone in the nation's history as it celebrates its 50th anniversary of independence.  On August 6, 1962, the people of Jamaica claimed their sovereignty from Britain, paving the way to one of the most diverse economies in the region, one of the most distinctive world cultures and a highly recognizable international brand.

Rich in culture, Jamaica is a year-round destination blessed with an abundance of natural beauty, warm and friendly people and sumptuous cuisine.  Visitors can go from enjoying a canopy tour and white water rafting to a music festival, all in one day!  A place some have called heaven on earth; Jamaica has something for everyone to enjoy.  From coast to coast, mountain top to seaside, the country offers an array of options.

Fit for even the most discerning traveler, the island is one of the world’s most idyllic vacation destinations.
